Der Begriff Image (dt. Bild, Abbild) wird in der Informationstechnik häufig im Zusammenhang mit Festplatten und CDs verwendet. Man versteht darunter eine Datei, die ein Abbild einer CD bzw. Festplatte darstellt. In ihr sind alle Informationen über diees Medium gespeichert. Weit verbreitete Formate hierzu sind bwt, ccd, cue, iso, dao, fcd, gcd, hdbf, img, nhf, nra, nrb, nrg, nrh, nri, nrm, nru, nrv, tao, bwi, bws, c2d, cif, cl3, cpj und bin. (as)
